Position Summary

Technica USA is seeking a highly motivated Product & Applications Manager to lead technical applications support, customer process development, and product management activities for our PCBA and SMT equipment solutions. This position serves as a key technical and business resource supporting customers, sales teams, and manufacturing partners throughout North America.

This Product & Applications Manager will exercise a high degree of independent judgment and technical expertise to evaluate customer manufacturing requirements, develop optimized process solutions, support strategic business growth initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned product lines and technologies.

This role requires strong analytical capability, customer engagement skills, and the ability to independently manage technical projects, applications development, demonstrations, and customer success initiatives.

Product & Applications Leadership

• Serve as the primary technical and applications expert for assigned PCBA/SMT product lines.
• Analyze customer manufacturing processes and recommend optimized production solutions based on technical requirements and operational objectives.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies for customers utilizing SMT and PCBA manufacturing technologies.
• Independently evaluate customer applications, manufacturing challenges, and technical requirements to determine appropriate equipment configurations and process recommendations.
• Lead technical product demonstrations, customer evaluations, and applications testing within Technica’s demo center and customer facilities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing principals and internal sales teams to support strategic business development initiatives and market expansion opportunities.
• Provide technical consultation and guidance to customers, sales personnel, and internal stakeholders regarding process optimization, equipment capabilities, and manufacturing best practices.

Project Management & Administration

• Carry out major assignments directly related to the management and general business operations of the company.
• Act as the primary liaison between engineering, sales, and executive leadership, providing expert consultation to senior management.
• Support Pre‑sales and post‑sales activities by participating in customer meetings, industry events and technical seminars.

Product Strategy & Business Operations

• Develop and conduct technical training programs for customers, internal personnel, and channel partners.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of SMT, PCBA manufacturing technologies, process methodologies, and industry trends.
• Create, maintain and manage technical documentation, applications reports, process recommendations, and product support materials.
• Formulate, implement, and interpret management policies and operating practices related to product lines and application strategies.
• Identify new opportunities by evaluating market trends and establishing long‑term or short‑term business objectives regarding product viability and the company's market position.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing significant, vendor, and client matters, including negotiating business terms within established company policies and delegated authority. Escalate agreements requiring legal or executive authorization for final approval and execution.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Experience with SMT equipment, AOI, SPI, dispensing, rework, or related PCBA manufacturing technologies.
• Applications engineering, process engineering, product management, or technical business development experience.
• Experience supporting customer process optimization and manufacturing implementation projects.
