Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Product Analyst I to assist in lifecycle management of products and support an AI-driven data pipeline for automotive catalog data. The role partners with the Product Owner and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and measure success, with emphasis on data-driven decision making.

The position is on-site in Springfield, MO, with no remote option, and involves analyzing automotive aftermarket data, validating requirements, and delivering pipeline

Qualifications

Job description

The Product Analyst I assists in all aspects of lifecycle management of a product/service or a group of products/services (from ideation to launch, and through to retirement). This role will specifically support the Product Owner responsible for building an AI-driven data pipeline for ingesting, normalizing, and enriching automotive aftermarket catalog content. The ideal candidate leverages retail sales insights and automotive data standards to understand user behavior, identify product opportunities, and measure the success of product initiatives.

Note on scope: this role does not own or directly edit catalog content (e.g., individual part records, digital assets, or cross-references). It builds and analyzes the automated AI pipeline and processes that ingest, normalize, and enrich that content at scale, working in partnership with the teams that maintain catalog data directly.

This is an on-site position is located in Springfield, MO. Remote work is not an option for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor specific aspects of a product life cycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Perform analyses on specific aspects to stay abreast of trends in the automotive aftermarket and ensure the product's competitive position.

Collaborate with Product Owners to define product requirements, prioritize features, and optimize the user experience for the AI catalog data pipeline.

Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze automotive customer needs, catalog data pipeline structures, and define and deliver products.

Assist in the design and execution of A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of new features, normalization algorithms, and product changes.

Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets related to product usage, user behavior, and aftermarket catalog data; identify trends and patterns in the data to uncover user needs, data gaps, and opportunities for pipeline improvement.

Support the product team in conducting market research and competitive analysis within the automotive retail and aftermarket catalog industries.

Support the development of new products and services by executing different responsibilities in the data pipeline development plan.

Contribute to the preparation of various data, pipeline data-quality, and pipeline analytics reports.

Present data-driven recommendations to product, engineering, and data science teams to optimize catalog enrichment.

Provide advice, training, and assistance regarding clients' queries, ensuring the technical product/service capabilities, AI pipeline functionality, and automotive catalog context are well understood by the client.

Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

Demonstrate the features/attributes of the AI catalog data pipeline and support requests for detailed demonstrations.

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities, as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology (including AI/ML data processing), external regulation, and industry best practices (such as ACES/PIES standards) through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent technical training/certification

Experience: Previous experience with automotive aftermarket catalog content (e.g., ACES/PIES mapping) and automotive retail sales; sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7-12 months).

Managerial Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)
