Job summary

WFAA in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced News Producer to join a major market team. You will write and edit stories for on-air and digital platforms, and produce fast-paced newscasts across multiple platforms.

The role requires strong storytelling, collaboration, and the ability to manage live, breaking events under tight deadlines. BA/BS in journalism or related field with 3–5 years of experience is preferred; ENPS and Axis graphics knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience preferred.
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and live-breaking news.
• Strong storytelling and multi-platform content skills.
• Familiarity with ENPS and Axis graphics is a plus.

WFAA in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced, energetic News Producer to join a major market team. If you like to produce fast-paced, creative newscasts, we want to hear from you. You must love where our business is headed and be aggressive at participating on all platforms. We're looking for a quick learner, who can be flexible with their schedule, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Encourage innovation and risk-taking in crafting great newscasts through evoking emotion and showcasing.
• Write and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platform
• Have a good understanding of streaming & social media platforms to incorporate into newscasts.
• Work collaboratively with other producers and staff members
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer.

Requirements

• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Understanding the tenets of professional journalism
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
• Knowledge of ENPS and Axis graphics a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
