Job summary

The Merc Co+op in Lawrence, KS seeks a Cooperator for Produce to work evenings and weekends in a fast-paced, shopper-focused environment. You will assist with receiving, pricing, culling, preparing and displaying produce, floral and department products while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Produce Manager, you will provide friendly service, collaborate with specialists to complete daily tasks and stay current with promotions.

Responsibilities

• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Collaborate with department Specialists to execute daily tasks within the department including opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Provide exceptional, prompt and friendly service in person and over the phone.
• Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions; report safety risks to store management.
• Support training of new staff by modeling best practices and department procedures.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
• Gain knowledge of cooperative ownership and products sold; respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Stay current with promotions and ads.
