Join to apply for the Produce Team Member (Clerk, Floor Service) - Part Time role at Whole Foods Market

Provides support as a member of the Produce team, including receiving and preparing product, maintaining the Produce floor and displays, and selling product in support of WFM standards. Performs functions related to breaking down deliveries and stocking shelves. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Team Members must be prepared to perform the duties of other Team Member roles as needed. Positions should support WFM core values and goals, promote programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and departmental duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, front-facing, checking codes, rotating, and removing out-of-date products.
  • Assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
  • Monitors and prevents spoilage; communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors.
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
  • Assists with periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrives on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; works scheduled shifts and attends trainings and meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages courteously.
  • Maximizes sales through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Follows and ensures compliance with procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work and shopping environment; maintains equipment according to standards.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures signage and pricing accuracy.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience

  • No prior retail experience required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, pulling.
  • Perform motions like bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in temperatures below 32°F, 32-40°F, and above 90°F.
  • Work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use tools and equipment like knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
  • May require ladder use.
