Job summary

Wegmans Produce department is seeking team members to deliver excellent customer service, helping shoppers find what they need and ensuring the freshest fruit and vegetables are available throughout the day. You’ll work with a team in a fast-paced setting that values quality and customer satisfaction.

You will stock shelves, trim and rotate products, and assist with unloading daily deliveries while maintaining clean, organized displays for a superior shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, preferably in grocery or retail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks.
• Interest in fresh produce and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in locating items and answering questions.
• Stock and rotate fruit and vegetables on shelves and displays.
• Unload deliveries and replenish backroom inventory as needed.

What will I do?

• Provide incredible service to our customers, helping them locate what they need
• Keep our shelves and displaysstocked with fresh fruits and vegetables
• Trim, package, and rotate product as necessary to maintain appearance and quality
• May unload daily deliveries and stock cases, displays and backroom coolers with new and existing products/inventory

Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Experience working on a farm; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and wet conditions. Basic tools and equipment used include box cutter, u-cart, hand/power jack, compactor, baler, knives, packaging supplies, and food processing equipment.
