Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a part-time Produce Associate to maintain and operate the produce department at D&W Fresh Market in Caledonia, MI. You will trim and prepare merchandise to company standards and support the department's financial performance.

You will weigh, package, label produce, rotate stock, and assist unloading deliveries. Prior produce knowledge helps, and adherence to safety and guest experience guidelines is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Must be able to work with fresh fruits, vegetables without allergic reactions.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce per procedures; cull, trim, store.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products as directed.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves; assist unloading deliveries.
• Notify Manager if supplies need to be ordered.
• Practice suggestive selling with customers.
• Know products and differences in price, taste, preparation.
• Maintain clean, stocked departments.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines.
• Follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May work in other departments as needed.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.
