Job summary

SpartanNash in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Produce Associate to maintain and operate the produce department, including trimming and preparation of merchandise according to company standards. The role supports the store's financial goals by ensuring fresh, attractive displays and efficient product handling.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, retail experience, the ability to read and perform basic math, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
Detail oriented with basic mathematical skills.
Must be able to work with fresh fruits, vegetables without allergic issues.

Responsibilities

Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed; trim and store product.
Weigh, package and label products.
Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
Fill, rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves; assist unloading deliveries.
Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
Practice suggestive selling with customers.
Maintain familiarity with all products; know differences in price, taste, preparation, use.
Maintain clean, attractive and well stocked departments.
Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines.
Follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
