Job summary

Sam's West, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Team Member for our produce department in Slidell, LA. You will ensure quality, freshness, and availability of produce, while delivering exceptional member service and maintaining a clean, organized department.

You’ll leverage product knowledge and teamwork to educate colleagues, adapt to changing store needs, and use handheld technology to drive in-store decisions and improve the shopping experience for members.

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, collaborate with cross functional teams, educate associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, and adapt to business needs across areas.
• Be an Expert: Understand product processes and quality standards for produce, trim/prepare/package as required, ensure product safety and sanitation, and follow laws and policies.
• Be a Techie: Use digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience, utilize handheld tech for decisions related to production, training, and quality, and encourage adoption by others.
• Be an Owner: Drive area performance, manage inventory and rotate stock, ensure quality and date control, reduce waste, and respond to customer needs per policy.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Promote high-quality service and products, follow Open Door Policy, complete tasks, and collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners.
