Job summary

You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, maintain a safe and clean environment, handle produce and store inquiries, promote store brands, and uphold the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold in the department and storewide.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Assist with prepare produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
