Job summary

River Point Farms in North Carolina is seeking reliable Inspectors to join our onion processing team. The Inspector checks incoming onions to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before processing, focusing on defects, sorting product, and supporting smooth production flow.

You will inspect onions for defects, trim or remove defects as needed, and help maintain a clean, safe work area while following SOPs and GMPs.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred, basic understanding of food safety and quality (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
• Ability to safely use knives or tools as required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming onions for defects such as damage, rot, size differences, and other quality issues.
• Trim, repair, or remove defects using knives or other tools as needed.
• Discard product that does not meet standards.
• Sort onions by size and direct them to the correct processing area.
• Work with team members to keep product flowing consistently.
• Confirm raw product meets company and customer requirements.
