Job summary

Chefs' Warehouse is seeking a Produce QC team member to uphold top-quality produce in line with our long-standing reputation. The role focuses on fresh produce knowledge and quality control within a food-industry context.

The candidate will work closely with operations, sales, and buying teams, maintain inventory accuracy, and help reduce shrink through proactive QC practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience with food, especially fresh produce.
• 1-2 years warehouse experience.
• Familiarity with food safety protocols.
• Proficient with inventory management systems and Excel.
• Able to work in temperatures 37-52 degrees and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Make informed decisions about produce quality, considering customer experience and shrink percentage.
• Maintain accurate inventory through daily counts and timely adjustments.
• Cull/rework cases to reduce shrink.
• Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and buying teams.
• Produce interdepartmental reports.

Position Summary

The Produce QC team member will assist in maintaining the highest quality produce, consistent with the longstanding reputation of Chefs Warehouse. We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience with fresh produce and a strong background in quality control in the food industry.

What you’ll do

• Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for customer experience and shrink %
• Maintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts, as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustments
• Cull/rework cases in an effort to reduce shrink
• Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and buying teams
• Produce reports to share interdepartmentally

About you

• 2-4 years experience with food, especially fresh produce
• 1-2 years warehouse experience
• Familiarity with food safety protocols
• Literacy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
• Efficient, with attention to detail
• Willing to work in temperatures between 37-52 degrees
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Outstanding team player
