Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Produce Team Member in Sacramento to support processing and merchandising in the produce department. You will deliver friendly service, maintain quality, manage sampling, and uphold health and safety standards.

The position requires reliable attendance, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. No prior retail experience is required, and the wage range is posted for hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Capable of accessing information about market conditions and communicating it to customers.
• Understands spoilage and supply waste and how it affects department profits.
• Working knowledge and application of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong to excellent communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Deliver information clearly to customers, vendors and Team Members.
• Meet customer service expectations in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety and sanitation rules.
• Ensures product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Cleans department continuously and maintains sweep logs.
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; attends trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and answers phones courteously.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including health, sanitation, and safety rules.
• Maintains a clean, safe working/shopping environment and equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; verifies signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
