Job summary

Safeway in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Produce Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure freshness, quality, and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced grocery setting.

You will oversee merchandising programs, planograms, inventory control, labor schedules, coaching of associates, and adherence to food safety standards while driving department performance and guest satisfaction.

  • Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times.
  • Manage product rotation, remove damaged items, and maintain freshness standards.
  • Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety guidelines.
  • Manage shrink through inventory controls and waste-reduction strategies.
  • Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs.
  • Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
