Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a dependable associate for the produce department in West Liberty, KY. You will help project sales, stock merchandise, and manage daily tasks to keep the department running smoothly. You will receive and unload deliveries, set weekly schedules, ensure correct pricing, temperatures, and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Projects sales, product movement, labor needs.
• Orders product according to established guidelines.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and guidelines.
• Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel.
• Follows guidelines in personnel issues (interviewing, training, evaluation, discipline).
• Follows guidelines for completion of forms, records, reports and verify receipts.
• Prepares weekly work schedules.
• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Marks items with correct selling price using pricing/label gun.
• Rotates merchandise according to shelf life and expiration dates.
• Performs housekeeping duties with available equipment.
• Operates required tools and equipment safely.
• Lift/move items up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain temperatures in coolers and cases.
• Work in temperature extremes (up to 32 degrees).
• Stand or walk at a rapid pace for extended periods.

• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32 degrees).
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
