Jetro Restaurant Depot in Lombard, IL is seeking a Produce Manager to oversee the entire produce department, focusing on inventory accuracy, product quality, and merchandising to support sales and customer satisfaction.

You will lead staff, maintain freshness, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and partner with receiving to secure proper quality and quantity, while driving stock rotation and reducing shrink.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, and stock management.
• Ability to identify product quality issues and ensure proper handling standards.
• Experience leading or overseeing team operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practices.
• Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards.
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items.
• Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards.
• Coordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagement.
• Review inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address areas of concern.
• Support receiving processes by ensuring incoming product is properly checked for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain overall department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulations.
