Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is seeking a Produce Associate to maintain stock levels and ensure quality in our produce area. You’ll display fresh fruits and vegetables, uphold safety standards, and assist customers with questions and product location.

You will work closely with team members in a fast-paced retail setting to deliver a positive shopping experience. We look for individuals who can multi-task, handle sharp tools safely, and learn new systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 required.
• Must be 18+ to operate and clean motorized equipment.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Typically involves on-the-job training.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintains full stock conditions on produce display racks, tables, and shelves.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares equipment for operation under supervision.
• Operates pallet jack to unload products and reloads trucks with returns.
• Ensures dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly.
• Inspects product for quality and maintains food safety standards.
• Responds to price checks and assists customers by locating products.
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling techniques.
• Provides friendly, customer-service oriented attitude toward customers.
• Maintains clean and safe working environment following company procedures.
