PRODUCE/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Current food handler's permit upon employment

Key Responsibilities

- Develop staffing schedules to manage customer volume during operating hours.
- Train and develop associates in inventory management, stocking, CAO, Key Retailing, and other tasks.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and recommending products.
- Offer product samples and inform customers of produce specials.
- Review products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action when needed.
- Use Fresh Insights to ensure proper sell-through and reduce shrinkage.
- Recommend produce items to customers to meet their needs.
- Develop and implement a business plan for the department to achieve goals.
- Work in refrigerated areas and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Implement merchandising and promotional plans.
- Keep associates informed about current and upcoming ads and promotions.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and note discrepancies.
- Ensure pricing accuracy, including shelf tags and promotional signage.
- Assist with inventory processes.
- Maintain proper temperature logs and ensure case and cooler temperatures are appropriate.
- Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activities.
