Job summary

Food City is seeking staff to support customer service in a fast-paced grocery environment. You will assist the produce area with ordering, receiving, and stocking while maintaining a clean and safe department.

The role focuses on friendly customer interactions, teamwork, and adherence to food safety standards on site. Flexible shifts and a commitment to company policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions and perform routine tasks.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to support the mission to "Run the Best Store in Town!".
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products for processing.
• Rotate merchandise during stocking to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean department according to company standards and sanitize as needed.
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down product.
• Follow the company food safety program and keep workstation neat and clean.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!”
• Maintain a positive attitude; create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
• Generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer first initiative by greeting and speaking to customers, provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Assist produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying all product for processing
• Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality
• Clean department according to company standards
• Shock all green leaf vegetables
• Assist in unloading trucks and breaking down product
• Core pineapples
• Follow the company food safety program
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean
• Department is to be sanitized and cleaned at least twice a day
• Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies
