Job summary

Target is hiring a Category Optimization Merchant - Produce/Floral in Minneapolis. This role develops and executes guest-led merchandising strategies across cross-functional teams to optimize assortment, space, and visual execution.

The position supports the Floral visual adjacency strategy and the Open Market shipper program, collaborating with Buyers and field teams. The candidate will analyze sales, inventory, and margins to drive growth while maintaining strong partnerships across HQ,

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years of Merchandising experience required.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of Produce and Floral merchandising.
• Experience with POGs, visual adjacencies, store layouts and merchandising execution.
• Ability to build partnerships and influence across HQ, field, vendor and third-party teams.
• Flexibility to travel and/or work occasional off-hours in stores for resets and execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute guest-led merchandising strategies that drive growth and profitability.
• Influence assortment, seasonal strategies, space and fixtures with Buyers and teams.
• Support Floral visual adjacency strategy and Open Market shipper program.
• Serve as Co-Space Captain and train partners in Produce and Floral merchandising.
• Analyze sales, inventory and allocations to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
