Job summary

The Kroger in Oshkosh, WI seeks an experienced Produce Department Leader to drive sales and maintain high quality and service. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, coordinate pricing and merchandising, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, training, handling customer concerns, and collaborating with store leadership to optimize operations in a fast-paced environment. Prior produce leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights as needed.
• Understanding of department operations (staffing, merchandising, computer-assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read scales and prices correctly.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy while implementing company policies.
• Assist in store security and handle customer complaints.
• Make staffing decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, transfers and evaluations for produce personnel.
• Provide training on price marking and customer courtesy to develop productivity.
• Supervise all aspects of salad bar operations.
• Plan schedules for full- and part-time staff for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain clean, uniformed, and well-presented department personnel.
• Direct receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of all produce products.
• Maintain adequate stock through proper ordering to keep inventories at optimal levels.
• Maintain and submit required records and reports; ensure proper waste disposal and sanitation.
• Analyze department operations and propose changes to store manager to improve efficiency.
• Promote company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Handle conflicts calmly and professionally; maintain honesty and integrity in all dealings.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform all duties as assigned by store manager or supervisor; thrive in a high-paced environment.
