Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Produce Department Manager in Hegins Township, PA to direct all functions of the Produce Department and work toward achieving sales and profit goals. You will report to the Store Director and oversee merchandising, inventory, receiving, pricing, and restocking processes.

The role requires retail produce experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage schedules, cleanliness, and safety standards in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• High school education is a minimum requirement.
• Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, order and maintain inventory and to ensure proper rotation of product.
• Above average analytical skills are necessary to interpret various reports to keep the department profitable.
• At least two years' experience as a produce clerk.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors.
• Dexterity to trim and package produce.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in their areas.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds half the time.
• Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all functions and activities of the Produce Department to achieve sales and profit goals.
• Follow merchandising plans for produce, floral and cut fruit/vegetable departments.
• Order merchandise and control inventory to minimize stockouts and overstocks and maximize sales.
• Ensure proper receiving, pricing, restocking, and product rotation procedures.
• Train, schedule and supervise department personnel.
• Maintain sanitation, safety and cleanliness of cases and equipment.
• Maintain good communications within the store and organization.
