Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Produce Manager to lead daily operations in the produce department. You will supervise staff, manage product flow, and ensure accurate pricing and shelf presentation. You will project sales and labor needs, coordinate deliveries, and maintain temperatures for fresh produce.

A strong focus on safety and efficiency is required. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, and enforcing standards to deliver high-quality service while protecting product freshness

Qualifications

• Experience supervising grocery/produce staff.
• Ability to project sales and labor needs.
• Proficiency with pricing and labeling standards.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Project sales, product movement, and labor needs.
• Order product according to guidelines.
• Receive and unload truck deliveries with available equipment.
• Set daily work assignments and priorities for staff.
• Prepare weekly work schedules.
• Stock and straighten merchandise and supplies.
• Label items with correct selling price using a pricing gun.
• Rotate merchandise by shelf life and expiration dates.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and operate equipment safely.
• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds; adapt to temperature extremes.
