Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a customer-focused team member to create outstanding experiences in our store. You will assist the department manager to meet sales goals while ensuring safety and cleanliness, and deliver the Customer 1st service that keeps shoppers returning.

You will answer questions about products, stock and label inventory, and help maintain quality and freshness in the department. This role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and respectful communication with guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items.
