Job summary

The Kroger Co. is hiring a department associate to help create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean store environment.

You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while upholding our Customer 1st strategy and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. In this role you will answer questions about products, promote corporate brands, stock and label merchandise, and ensure temperature logs and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Provide outstanding customer service and respond to questions about products.
• Promote corporate brands to customers and foster trust among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment and ensure customers feel valued.
• Maintain product knowledge and assist with stocking, labeling and inventory.
• Inspect products for quality and freshness and take action as needed.
