Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer service-focused employee to uphold our Customer 1st standard. In this role you will assist the department manager to reach sales goals, maintain safety and cleanliness, and help customers with product knowledge across the store.

You will promote brand items, handle produce, and ensure quality and freshness while maintaining accurate labeling and inventory. A friendly, cooperative attitude is essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate customers.
• Promote corporate brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Make customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of department products and suggest items.
• Assist with preparing produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise.
• Inspect quality and freshness and act accordingly.
• Stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
• Maintain a positive attitude and adapt to ads.
