Job summary

El Rancho Supermercado is seeking a Produce Clerk to assist with inventory counts, prep produce for display, and manage stock in the produce department. You will trim, wash, band and wrap items, build displays, and ensure accurate pricing and signage while maintaining clean, organized coolers and work areas.

You must be detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and bilingual in English and Spanish to serve a diverse customer base.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure freshness and quality through rotation of product.
• Inventory merchandise and monitor on-hand counts.
• Set up and maintain all displays in the produce area.

• Handle produce cutting, washing, and packaging for sale.
• Unload deliveries and organize inventory.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Produce Clerk is responsible for assisting with inventory counts, preparing product for display by trimming, washing, banding and /or wrapping produce goods. Build, rotate and maintain product displays, maintain department schematics, clean and sanitize work area, and monitor temperatures in coolers and cases. Product knowledge, unload trucks and organize inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure freshness and quality through rotation of product
• Inventory merchandise on hand
• Set-up and maintain all displays
• Assist manager in maintaining pricing and signage
• Maintain neat and orderly coolers
• Use and maintenance of sprinkler wet on produce
• Cut fruits and vegetables to be sold in packages
• Maintain cleanliness of scales
• All other duties assigned within the department
• Work cross functionally with other departments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Ability to drive and flexible to travel to all company locations as required.
