Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Comparable Retail experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays and inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get products they want and need.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads; maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions to management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of needed repairs.
• Report safety risks, incidents, and illegal activity to store management.
• Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults; perform essential duties with/without accommodations.
