Fiesta Mart is hiring a Produce Clerk for Store 050 Houston-Lockwood in Houston, TX. The role supports the Produce Manager by assisting customers, keeping displays fresh, and ensuring a clean, organized produce area.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, and move for extended periods in a fast-paced grocery environment. Fluent Spanish/English reading and writing skills are valued to interact with diverse customers and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and staff.
• Understand and follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of Produce Manager, the Produce Clerk provides customer service. Assists customers, cleans, fills and rotates the perishable (produce) displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
