Summary

The Produce Clerk is primarily responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. They will perform all produce processing, sanitation, safety, and stocking procedures on all fresh produce products (fruits, wet vegetables, and dry vegetables) as outlined by company policies and directed by the Produce Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Greet and engage guests promptly upon entry to the department.
2. Attend to guest needs attentively and assist with locating items.
3. Monitor guest flow and adapt quickly to changing demands.
4. Follow daily work schedules as assigned.
5. Handle produce duties in accordance with company guidelines to ensure safety, convenience, and value for guests.
6. Prevent shrinkage, damage, and spoilage to maintain product freshness and quality.
7. Assist with building produce displays and ensure proper pricing and signage.
8. Perform stocking, wrapping, and clean-up duties as assigned.
9. Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Key Requirements

1. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
2. Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, squat, climb, and walk for extended periods.
3. Ability to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs. to a height of 4 feet regularly.
4. Ability to read, write, and complete company forms.
5. Comfortable working in controlled atmosphere temperatures of around 60 degrees for up to 8-10 hours.
6. Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.
7. Willingness to accept supervisory coaching.
8. Ability to work well as part of a team.
