Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities:

1. Model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate our Customers.
2. Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
3. Foster trust and respect among associates.
4. Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products and store services.
5. Gain knowledge of products to respond to customer inquiries and make suggestions.
6. Assist with preparing produce platters/trays.
7. Inform customers of produce specials.
8. Recommend items to customers to meet their needs.
9. Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise.
10. Inspect products for quality and freshness, and take appropriate action.
11. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
12. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
13. Maintain a positive attitude.
14. Stay updated on current and upcoming store promotions.
15. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
16. Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
17. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
18. Report accidents and safety risks to management.
19. Handle stressful situations professionally and manage conflicts cooperatively.
20. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
21. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
22. Support and assist customers including minors, those with special needs, and older adults.
23. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handler's permit upon employment.

Preferred Experience:

• Retail experience.
• Second language skills (speaking, reading, or writing).
