Summary

The Produce Clerk is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She performs produce processing, sanitation, safety, and stocking procedures on all fresh produce products (fruits, wet vegetables, and dry vegetables) as outlined by company and directed by the Produce Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests upon entering the area or department.
• Be attentive to guest needs and assist in locating items.
• Manage guest flow and adapt quickly to changing demands.
• Follow daily work schedules as assigned.
• Handle produce in accordance with company guidelines to ensure safety, convenience, and value.
• Prevent shrinkage, damage, and spoilage to maintain freshness and quality.
• Assist with building produce displays and ensure proper pricing and signage.
• Perform duties such as stocking, wrapping, and clean-up as directed.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Key Requirements

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, squat, climb, and walk.
• Lift items weighing up to 60 lbs. to a height of 4 feet regularly.
• Ability to read, write, and complete company forms.
• Work in controlled atmosphere temperatures of around 60 degrees for up to 8-10 hours.
• Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Accept supervisory coaching and work as part of a team.
