Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Current food handlers permit once employed

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Comparable retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions
• Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise properly
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate actions
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept
• Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activities to store management
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Salary Range: $17.00 - $21.16
