Job Description
What You'll Do:
As a Produce Clerk, your role includes maintaining stock levels, delivering exceptional customer service, and upholding our high standards. Your responsibilities include:
- Engage with Guests: Assist guests in finding items, taking orders and special requests, and addressing concerns both in person and over the phone.
- Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure items are well-stocked and displayed per company standards. Rotate products using FIFO to ensure freshness.
- Ensure Cleanliness & Food Safety: Keep the sales floor and coolers clean and organized. Log produce temperatures regularly, and complete rotation and shrink sheets daily.
- Maintain Supplies & Produce Cooler: Keep supplies like bags and twist ties stocked. Rotate cooler items FIFO. Order specific products as needed.
- Teamwork: Support team efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
- Honor Commitments: Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide notice for absences to find replacements.
What We're Looking For:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to engage and assist guests effectively.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety policies and ability to recognize hazards. Familiarity with equipment like slicers, balers, etc.
- Knowledge: Understanding of retail food operations and perishables.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Applicants must be able to perform essential duties, including:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Full upper body mobility.
- Working at a fast pace.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures possible.
Work Schedule:
- This is a part-time role, up to 28 hours per week.
- Shifts vary and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
