Job summary

Homeland Stores is hiring for a Produce Clerk to greet customers, assist with shopping, and ring up sales while upholding department standards. You will manage perishables, ensure safety compliance, and keep displays fresh and organized.

Prepare backroom for deliveries, verify invoices, and help with inventory, pricing, and product rotation. Associates should be able to follow complex instructions, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior experience with produce in a grocery setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and ring out customers politely.
• Maintain perishables standards and safety procedures.
• Check pricing, expiration, and maintain organized displays.
• Record cooler/freezer temperatures and assist with cleanliness.
• Verify deliveries, inspect for damage, and rotate stock as needed.
• Code-date items and prepare backroom for receipts.
• Calculate retail prices from cost and update price labels.
• Move damaged/unsalable products to backroom and process returns.
