Job summary

Boise Co-op is seeking a Produce Associate to help keep the produce department clean, well-stocked, and inviting for customers. You will stock, rotate, merchandise and assist shoppers with questions while following freshness and safety procedures.

You will learn about seasonality, signage, and displays, and work with the team to achieve department goals in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Previous produce or natural foods retail experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and operating knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department appearance and product quality through receiving, rotation, culling, cleaning and stocking.
• Build and maintain visually appealing, well-merchandised displays.
• Monitor signage for accurate pricing and product information.
• Reduce shrink by reporting damaged or spoiled products and using ripe produce for Value-Added programs.

You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, and communicate clearly with customers and staff. Tasks also require climbing step stools or ladders, repetitive arm and hand motions, and reaching above shoulders or horizontally when stocking or retrieving product.
