Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handler's permit once employed.

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond with suggestions
• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get what they want
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take action as needed
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance and report repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to management
• Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflict in a professional manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
