Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to support the Produce department and deliver friendly, helpful service to customers. You will help keep the department stocked, fresh, and inviting, rotate stock, check in deliveries, and assist customers with their needs on a daily basis.

The role emphasizes active, team-based work in a fast-paced environment, with training provided. Prior experience is not required, and the position offers hourly compensation with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Apply basic math for daily tasks such as counting and recording.
• Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers to support the team.
• Learn and apply sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with their needs.
• Maintain freshness and rotate stock in the Produce department.
• Ensure product supply is adequate and organized for the day.
• Check in and process product deliveries and invoices as needed.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
• Remove trash timely and assist with department upkeep.
• Assist with ordering products and pricing for customers.
• Answer phones and provide friendly service to callers.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and department guidelines.
• Help with additional tasks and special projects as they arise.
