Job summary

Vintage Grocers in Malibu, CA is seeking a friendly Produce Clerk to maintain clean, attractive displays of fresh fruits and vegetables while delivering excellent customer service.

In this role you will stock, rotate using FIFO, price signage accurately, and help with receiving deliveries. You’ll work in a fast-paced grocery environment and support the department with a focus on food safety and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous grocery, retail, produce, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and produce handling preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist customers with locating products and answering questions regarding produce items.
• Provide recommendations on product selection, preparation, and handling.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
• Stock produce displays, wet racks, and refrigerated cases with fresh products.
• Rotate merchandise using FIFO procedures.
• Remove damaged or unsaleable products and maintain attractive displays.
• Maintain cleanliness of displays and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries.
