Job summary

Celestica is seeking a first-level supervisor for a large site in Portland to lead the procurement team and oversee purchasing activities. You will coordinate buying, manage projects and mentor staff to meet schedules and cost targets.

Ideally you bring 4–6 years of procurement experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills to drive policy-compliant, efficient supplier interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field; geography may vary by site.
• 4–6 years relevant experience in procurement or related field.
• Experience with procurement documentation, bid/quotation processes, and negotiations.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills; ability to coach and mentor teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate buying activities for the procurement team.
• Manage team projects and allocate resources.
• Provide guidance on procurement documentation creation, review, and approval.
• Advise on procurement plan development, source lists, bid methods and negotiations.
• Lead complex procurement activities and develop purchasing policies and procedures.
• Oversee purchasing processes and ensure on-time deliveries and cost savings.
• Supervise, mentor and coach the Purchasing team and ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of procurement, inventory and supplier management.
