Job summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine is actively recruiting a thoracic transplant procurement surgeon. The appointment will be at a rank commensurate with experience and focus on procurement of adult and pediatric hearts and lungs, including DCD donors and the implementation of NRP.

Candidates must be board-certified or eligible by the ABTS and eligible for Utah licensure (ECFMG/USMLE steps).

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or eligible by the ABTS for thoracic surgery.
  • Eligible for licensure in Utah (ECFMG/USMLE steps).
  • Experience in procurement of both adult and pediatric hearts and lungs.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement of adult and pediatric hearts and lungs, including DCD donors.
  • Support implementation of NRP and ambulatory ECMO/eCPR services.
  • Active teaching of Thoracic Surgery residents.

Details

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery within the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine is actively recruiting for a thoracic transplant procurement surgeon. Individuals would join the faculty of the Division at a rank commensurate with experience. Candidates will include those that are board-certified or eligible by the ABTS as well as those that meet criteria for licensure within the state of Utah (ECFMG certification/USMLE steps). Responsibilities are dedicated to the procurement of adult and pediatric hearts and lungs, including DCD donors and implementation of NRP, as well as supporting ambulatory ECMO and eCPR services. In addition, applicant will be expected to participate actively in the teaching of Thoracic Surgery residents.
