Job summary

IEM in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to report to the Supply Chain Manager and oversee the purchasing department with a focus on switchgear programs.

The role strengthens procurement governance, supplier data management, and strategic sourcing while leading a team in a 100% in-office, on-site environment. Based temporarily in NE San Antonio with a permanent Brooks location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing setting.
• 3+ years purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills with a foundation in Lean principles.
• Career ambition with growth and increasing responsibility in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.

Responsibilities

• Understand demand requirements to make strategic procurement decisions.
• Supervise end-to-end purchasing process.
• Supervise and ensure maintenance of department metrics and KPIs.
• Analyze risks to the supply chain and present options to senior management.
• Engage with internal/external stakeholders to improve procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal departments to meet purchasing needs and resolve supply challenges.
• Analyze vendor performance and maintain a strong, sustainable supply chain.
• Coordinate nonconformance issues with internal teams and suppliers.
• Interface with vendors and build relationships to support procurement.
• Supervise a team of buyers.
