Job summary

GEA Group is seeking an Operational Buyer to manage the sourcing of goods and services, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain supplier relationships from a U.S. base.

The role involves end-to-end procurement, inventory oversight, and cost optimization across electronics, plastics, nylon, and rubber parts. You will collaborate with product management, sales, and logistics to forecast demand and ensure timely deliveries while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing/procurement.
• Certifications (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Procurement and Ordering: source and purchase goods and services, negotiate pricing with support from Strategic Buyers, and secure favorable terms.
• Supplier Management: develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, and delivery reliability.
• Setting Up New Suppliers: identify and assess potential suppliers and onboard them.
• Inventory Management: monitor inventory levels and forecast demand with sales/product teams.
• Cost Control and Analysis: analyze market trends and prepare reports on purchasing activity and cost savings.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: ensure procured goods meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Working with Third Parties for Supplier Payments: coordinate invoice processing and payments.
