Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist for per diem coverage. You will oversee hospital purchasing, ensure policy compliance, and coordinate with vendors and accounts payable to resolve pricing and credit issues.

Responsibilities include processing requisitions, returning products for credits, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring timely delivery to end users across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or one-year relevant hospital/healthcare business experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical ability to solve daily purchasing, deliveries, and pricing issues.
• Ability to manage interruptions and stay focused on workload.

Responsibilities

• Ensure orders follow hospital purchasing policies and contracts.
• Monitor requests for accuracy, signatures, and standards compliance.
• Process requisitions in a timely manner and coordinate returns for credit.
• Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve pricing issues within standards.
• Communicate updates to systems staff and participate in template updates.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure products reach end users.

Hourly Pay Range:
$25.36 - $38.04 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Procurement Specialist Senior – Per Diem

Position Highlights:

• Position: Procurement Specialist Senior
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Per Diem (as needed)
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am – 4:30pm as needed
• Required Travel: As needed across sites

What you will do:

• Ensures all orders placed for their area of responsibility follow established hospital purchasing policies
• Monitor purchase requests for accuracy and validity, compliance with signature requirements, and compliance to standards and contracts
• Ensure requisitions are processed in a timely manner
• Prepares and coordinates product returns, ensuring credit is received
• Works with accounts payable staff to resolve pricing issues within defined standards
• Coordinates efforts with vendors to resolve pricing or credit issues
• Ensures information updates are provided to systems staff in a timely manner
• Coordinates with systems staff on template reviews and updates
• Participates in or identifies cost saving opportunities
• Ensure products reach the appropriate end user
• Provide return documents to Receiving staff for products in timely manner
• Other projects/duties, as assigned

What you will need:

• Education: Bachelor degree or one-year relevant hospital/healthcare business experience
• Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to get work performed through, with, and by people efficiently and effectively.
• Analytical ability to solve problems encountered with daily purchasing, deliveries, and prices.
• Possess ability to distinguish between an emergency and non-emergencysituation and solve situation accordingly.
• Ability to congenially accept numerous personnel and visitor interruptions without general disruption of the basic workload.
• Experience: one-year relevant hospital/healthcare business experience
• Certification: Certified healthcare professional credentials preferred (CPHM, CPM, etc.)
