Palm Beach State College is seeking a Buyer to procure goods and services for assigned areas at the lowest cost, coordinating with vendors and departments. You will prepare purchase orders, maintain bid files, and analyze purchasing activity to support campus operations.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, customer service, and effective communication with internal and external partners, including end-user trainings and policy administration.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college coursework, or related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• One year related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates purchasing activities. Meets with current or potential vendors and follows up as needed.
• Processes requisitions and prepares purchase orders.
• Administers purchasing policies and resolves questions from personnel involved in activities.
• Prepares training materials and conducts end-user trainings.
• Prepares, issues, and renews bids and proposals; evaluates proposals and bids received.
• Studies prices and market conditions to identify sources of supply and new products.
• Monitors purchasing expenditures to ensure competitive thresholds are met.
• Prepares or assists in preparing specifications for purchases of materials, supplies, and equipment.
