Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is hiring a Buyer to execute daily procurement for designated facilities. You will manage demand, supplier contracts, pricing, and open orders within the ERP system to ensure cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), 2+ years in purchasing or supply chain, and strong Excel/ERP experience, especially Dynamics 365. Collaboration across Operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in any major; bachelor’s preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, materials, supply chain or manufacturing customer-service experience.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP purchasing processes; MS Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze supplier delivery, open orders, inventory and cost data; communicate escalations clearly.
• Strong ethics, ownership, attention to detail, service mindset, collaboration across plant priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and Operations leadership.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, approved supplier lists, pricing, and specs set by Global/Regional leadership.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance, and Category Management; maintain clear escalation paths.
• Procure-to-pay: convert demand intoPOs; confirm price, terms, quantities, delivery dates; monitor orders through receipt and invoicing.
• Ensure contract and policy compliance; flag off-contract pricing, maverick spend, and duplicates for resolution.
• Coordinate supplier execution, expedite critical material, resolve shortages, and manage recovery plans before operations are affected.
• Monitor inventory and working capital; review demand, lead times, safety stock, open-PO exposure, and opportunities to reduce days on hand.
• Maintain supplier performance data; support corrective actions and scorecards for top suppliers.
• Validate pricing and identify cost-avoidance opportunities; report savings to leadership.
• Maintain accurate ERP data including supplier, item, pricing, lead-time, and PO information.
