Job description


Title: Procurement Specialist, EU MDR
Location: Remote
Duration: 9 months
Pay range: $37 - $42/hr


Job Summary: The Procurement Specialist - MDR will support the Procurement and Sourcing organizations in preparing outsourced processes and suppliers for the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR). They will be part of a larger EU MDR project team, responsible for all supplier-related actions, communications, and projects for the EI MDR project.

Responsibilities:



  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure effective communication regarding EU MDR.

  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with suppliers to meet EU MDR requirements.

  • Serve as the primary contact for suppliers in the context of the EU MDR project.

  • Prepare and issue RFQs to potential suppliers for EU testing and sampling.

  • Collaborate with suppliers on labeling, specifications, manufacturing processes, 2D barcoding, inspection plans, drawings, process risks, equipment, validations, etc.

  • Manage MDR sampling, testing, and product transfers to ensure security of supply.

  • Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve problems and ensure timely solutions.

  • Support product transfers by coordinating internally and externally for smooth transitions, if needed.

  • Address drawing-related issues with suppliers.

  • Manage ERP to match ASL and EU MDR approval status.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.

  • At least 4 years of engineering or supply chain management experience supporting new product introductions.

  • Experience in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries is highly preferred.

  • Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with suppliers, peers, and leadership.

  • Effective negotiation skills for obtaining favorable prices and terms.

  • Ability to recognize risks and develop contingency plans.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across organizational levels.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, Excel analytics, and reporting.

  • Results-oriented with good business and financial acumen.
  • Experience with JDE preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Med Device EU MDR regulations.
