Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist 4 in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role focuses on leading commodity management, developing ecosystem strategies, and driving cost savings across strategic suppliers in a global, matrixed environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define procurement strategies, manage spend, and ensure supplier performance while navigating complex terms and conditions. Travel of 10-15% may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 6-12 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, or a similar function within machinery industries.
• Experience utilizing financial and data-driven techniques to support decision-making.
• Understanding of major mechanical manufacturing processes and the ability to communicate basic mechanical topics with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of procurement-related processes, systems, and tools.
• Familiarity with SAP and Productivity Management System.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with supplier financial risk evaluation and management.
• Experience with supply chain risk evaluation and management.
• Ability to develop comprehensive knowledge of commodities and complex sourcing strategies.
• Commercial knowledge, contract law, and terms and conditions.
• Experience managing Long Term Contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Commodity Circle in the respective area of responsibility with support from cross-functional team members.
• Manage commodities for the assigned area of responsibility.
• Define the Ecosystem strategy with cross-functional counterparts, supported by GCMs, aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure transparency on cost structures and spend through Commodity Circles.
• Create and implement business-specific initiatives based on commodity and ecosystem strategies.
• Increase Managed Spend by safeguarding awardings per defined strategies.
• Maintain a competitive supply base aligned with ecosystem and commodity circles.
• Execute strategic procurement activities including negotiation planning and quarterly reviews.
• Prepare, negotiate, award, and manage frame contracts and price lists for strategic suppliers.
• Manage relationships with assigned strategic suppliers in alignment with GCM.
• Generate and monitor savings measures and KPIs.
• Drive supplier involvement and cost-out initiatives through Commodity Circles.
• Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement measures.
• Provide supplier market information to stakeholders.
• Drive supply and supplier management processes including qualification and evaluation.

Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading commodity management activities within the assigned area of responsibility. This role develops and executes commodity and ecosystem strategies, manages strategic suppliers, drives cost savings and procurement initiatives, ensures supply base competitiveness, and manages procurement risks and opportunities. The position works closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment.

• Prepare, negotiate, award, and make available frame contracts and price lists for strategic suppliers in accordance with business and market requirements and in alignment with GCM.
• Manage relationships with assigned strategic suppliers in alignment with GCM.
• Generate, document, and implement savings measures and monitor and report relevant KPIs.
• Drive early procurement and supplier involvement and cost-out activities through respective Commodity Circles.
• Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement appropriate measures.
• Provide supplier market information and knowledge to stakeholders through the network.
• Drive supply and supplier management processes, including qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification.
• Work effectively within a global, matrixed organization and influence stakeholders through effective verbal and written communication.

Required Qualifications
