Job description

Aescape is a New York-based physical AI and robotics company redefining human recovery through intelligent, precision bodywork, elevating it into a consistent, outcomes-driven practice.

Powered by real-time body mapping, advanced robotics, and proprietary software, Aescape delivers deeply personalized bodywork that continuously adapts to the individual. This creates a superior way for members to move with greater ease, recover more efficiently, and optimize how they feel every single day.

Aescape is building a defining brand for recovery, shifting behavior from a sporadic experience into a progressive, measurable routine, unlocking compounding benefits that build lasting resilience and laying the groundwork for an entirely new category of proactive human health and performance.

Aescape powers recovery across leading fitness, hospitality, and wellness environments, including Equinox, Life Time, Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, Pause Studios, and Remedy Place, and is backed by Valor Equity Partners, BroadLight Capital, and Mecha Ventures.

Aescape is looking for a Procurement Specialist who can own procurement activities across 2 programs, 12 product lines and 400+ components, managing relationships with over 30 global suppliers and Tier-1 manufacturing partners. Your responsibilities will span supplier sourcing and onboarding, PO management, maintaining supplier relationships, resolving delivery and shortage issues, and owning clear-to-build readiness for new product introductions. You'll help drive KPIs related to vendor negotiations, cost reductions and inventory management, with an opportunity to grow into demand planning as the role develops. You will also help support strategic initiatives around Aescape's supply chain and manufacturing footprint.

This is a hands-on position that requires a strong analytical and practical background working with mechatronic systems. We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a technical understanding of the components you will be tasked with sourcing (machined parts, injection molding, PCBAs, linear motion systems, and more). The successful candidate must be process oriented, data-driven, and have prior experience working in a production setting.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and wants to grow within a hardware startup where operations, engineering, and manufacturing are tightly linked. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

This role is remote in Philadelphia with expected travels to our office in NYC once a month

What You’ll Do
Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Own purchase order issuance and management for finished goods, spare parts, tooling, select raw materials and other direct spend categories to meet production schedules
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Identify supplier risk and drive resolution of shortages, delivery issues, invoice discrepancies, and supplier non-conformances
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, finance, and product teams
  • Support supplier vetting and onboarding, including commercial and technical evaluation of new suppliers ahead of PO issuance, as well as qualification of alternate or second-source suppliers
Cost Analysis & Negotiation
  • Maintain accuracy of pricing, lead times, and terms across 2 programs, 12 product lines, 30+ suppliers and 400+ components
  • Create and execute RFQs, spot buys, and cost-reduction initiatives across key commodity types
  • Suggest negotiation tactics and quote analyses to support make/buy decisions and set purchase agreements
  • Drive cost-down opportunities through negotiation, alternate sourcing and spec alignment with cross functional teams
  • Track and report BOM costs across all product lines
New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Drive sourcing of parts for new products in partnership with engineering and product teams and 3rd party manufacturers
  • Own clear-to-build material readiness processes for prototype and production builds to support overall NPI program management
  • Plan for phase-in and phase-out of components while maintaining sufficient material days on hand
  • Track long-lead and critical-path components while mitigating risk to maintain 100% line-up status
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years experience in global procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles in a high volume, high mix hardware or manufacturing environment
  • Working technical knowledge for common commodities within mechatronic systems; including but not limited to metals, injection molding and general off-the-shelf components
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles and design/document change control processes
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to synthesize complex information into simple, actionable insights and communicate requirements
  • Experience working within an ERP system for PO management and inventory transactions (NetSuite experience a plus, not required)
  • Positive attitude, high energy and an eagerness to learn and work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with a PLM system (Arena a plus) or ability to ramp quickly
  • Unrivaled attention to detail
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communication, organization and negotiation
  • Prior exposure to demand planning is a plus, not required
What’s In It For You
  • Join a trailblazing robotics and AI company building the future of recovery
  • The chance to make a difference with a product that empowers healthier and happier living
  • Team culture driven by passion, ambition, empowerment, inclusion, curiosity, and fun!
  • 100% employer-paid healthcare coverage for employees with generous coverage for eligible dependents
