Job summary

Team Builder Recruiting is seeking a Procurement Specialist to own end-to-end purchasing for inventory, job sites, and operational needs across multiple branches. You will source vendors, negotiate pricing, and build strategic supplier relationships to support our projects.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in purchasing or supply chain, strong negotiation and ERP/MRP experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in construction or building materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end purchasing for inventory, job sites, and operations.
  • Source and evaluate vendors, negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships and be the primary contact for key vendors.
  • Collaborate with operations, project managers, warehouse, and leadership to forecast material needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and supplier performance; mitigate disruptions.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and improve procurement processes.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP to coordinate purchasing, reporting, and inventory.

What You'll Do as a Procurement Specialist

  • Own end-to-end purchasing for inventory, job sites, and operational needs across our multiple branches.
  • Source and evaluate vendors while negotiating competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships and serve as our primary point of contact for key vendors.
  • Collaborate with operations, project managers, warehouse teams, and leadership to forecast material needs and align purchasing with demand. Be a subject-matter expert, mentoring junior staff.
  • Manage inventory levels to help minimize shortages, excess stock, and carrying costs.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and supply chain risks, proactively addressing disruptions before they affect operations.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvements to our purchasing processes.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP and inventory management systems to coordinate purchasing, reporting, and inventory while helping establish procurement best practices.

Our Ideal Procurement Specialist

  • Experienced: 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably within construction, building materials, or a related industry.
  • Strategic: Independently own strategic sourcing decisions and vendor negotiations, take initiative in identifying and resolving issues, and excel at managing multiple priorities with precision.
  • Skilled: Bring strong negotiation, vendor management, and inventory control capabilities to your work.
  • Tech-Savvy: Work confidently with ERP/MRP and inventory management systems, along with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Educated: A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Collaborative & Accountable: Build strong relationships with suppliers and our internal teams while continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency, all with minimal oversight.

What We Offer Our Procurement Specialist

  • Pay Range: $65,000-$80,000/year, DOE
